Community Wildfire Defense Grants

Funder: U.S. Department of Agriculture

Award Amount: up to Up to $10,000,000

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Description: To assist at-risk communities and Tribes in the Western US with planning for and mitigating wildfire risks. Funding supports: (1) Development and revision of Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs); and (2) Implementation of projects outlined in CWPPs (less than 10 years old). The program prioritizes at-risk communities with high wildfire hazard potential, low-income communities, and those impacted by severe disasters.

Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE): Teacher Preparation Grants: Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program

Funder: U.S. Department of Education

Award Amount: $$1,000,000–$6,000,000 per project year

Deadline: April 28, 2025; Notice of Intent to Apply: February 18, 2025

Description: Provides funding to increase the number of highly effective educators by supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices that prepare, develop, or enhance the skills of educators. These grants will allow eligible entities to develop, expand, and evaluate practices that can serve as models to be sustained and disseminated.

FY25 STOP School Violence Program Funder: U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)

Award Amount:

  • Category 1: Up to $2,000,000
  • Category 2: Up to $1,000,000

Deadline: April 3, 2025

Description: Supports K-12 school safety by implementing solutions to enhance school climate, establish school-based behavioral threat assessment and intervention teams to identify violence risks, introduce technologies like anonymous reporting tools, and apply other evidence-based strategies to prevent violence.

1890 Institution Teaching, Research, and Extension Capacity Building Grants Program

Funder: U.S. Department of Agriculture

Award Amount: $100,000 - $750,000

Deadline: May 08, 2025

Description: Supports projects that strengthen teaching programs in the food and agricultural sciences in the need areas of curriculum design and materials development, faculty development, and others. by building the institutional capacities of the 1890 Land-grant Institutions.

Basic Needs and income Creation Funder: Bank of America Charitable Foundation

Award Amount:

  • Larger markets: $5,000 – $50,000
  • Smaller markets: $2,500 – $25,000

Deadline: March 3, 2025 (Note: There will be a separate deadline for Stable Housing and Empowering Communities on June 30, 2025)

Description: To support organizations addressing economic mobility in the area of Basic Needs and Income Creation: Providing individuals and families with essential resources and opportunities to achieve financial stability.

Kentucky Fried Wishes Grant Program - Improving Health & Wellbeing

Funder: Kentucky Fried Chicken Foundation Inc.

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline: Application Window - March 31 – April 18, 2025

Description: Helps uplift communities by focusing on mobile health clinic creations, playground improvements, domestic violence shelter upgrades, and disability accommodations. Priority is given to projects that can be completed within 6 to 12 months.

Challenge America

Funder: National Endowment for the Arts

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline:

  • Part 1 Grants.gov deadline - April 24, 2025
  • Part 2 NEA Applicant Portal - May 13, 2025

Description: Offers support primarily to small organizations for projects in all artistic disciplines that extend the reach of the arts to populations that are underserved. The focus is on populations whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economic status, or disability.

The AARP Purpose Prize award

Funder: AARP

Award Amount: $75,000

Deadline: February 28, 2025, at 5 PM ET

Description: Honors extraordinary nonprofit founders 50 and older who tap into the power of life experience to build a better future for us all. Winners also have access to yearlong individualized supports to help further their organizational goals. Examples of current supports include one-on-one leadership coaching for founders, data and evaluation consulting, succession planning, prospectus development, social media and branding support, and more.
