Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Directorate for STEM Education (IUSE: EDU)

Award Amount: $200,000 - $2,000,000

Deadline: January 15, 2025

Description: Supports projects to improve STEM teaching and learning for undergraduate students, including studying what works and for whom and how to transform institutions to adopt successful practices in STEM education and STEM Teacher education.

Ethical and Responsible Research

Award Amount: $50,000 - $700,000

Deadline: January 23, 2025

Description: Supports projects that promote, improve and disseminate responsible and ethical research practices in STEM fields, focusing on individual, organizational and cultural factors influencing ethical conduct across career stages and research environments.

Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts

Award Amount: Up to $25,000 for planning and up to $350,000 for implementation

Deadline: The last concept paper deadline for 2024 is December 1

Description: Aims to bring the lifelong benefits of a liberal arts education to students who historically have been excluded from higher education—including low-income students, first-generation students, students of color, and immigrant students—who now constitute the “new majority” of undergraduates and depend on community college as their gateway to higher education

STEM Stars: 6-12th Grade Advanced STEM

Award Amount: Up to $50,000

Deadline: Rolling

Description: Created to promote and encourage students in middle and high school who are interested in STEM careers, supported programs’ primary goals should include but are not limited to, fostering a love for STEM, preparing students for college and careers in STEM fields, and promoting problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Georgia-Pacific Foundation Grant

Award Amount: Unspecified amount

Deadline: Rolling - due to limited funding at year-end, submission by October 31 is encouraged

Description: Uses Four E focus areas (Education, Enrichment of Community, Entrepreneurship and Environment) as guideposts for giving in ways that strengthen our communities.

The age-adjusted suicide rate in 2022 was 14.21 per 100,000 individuals.

In 2022, men died by suicide 3.85 times more than women.

White males accounted for 68.46% of suicide deaths in 2022.

94% of adults surveyed in the U.S. think suicide can be prevented.
